The Spartan track team competed at Union this week in the Frontier Conference Meet. The boys' team placed 3rd overall in the conference meet, gaining points in the boys' 4x400 relay with a first place medal. Additionally, Zach Legg took first in Pole Vault, Brennan Presley medaled in 1st place for Long Jump, and Bryce Bray won 4th in Discus Throw. Those placings, along with several other top ten finishes propelled the Spartan boys into the 3rd place ranking as the competition heats up for the upcoming Regional and State track meets. Brandee Presley continues to hold her 1st place wins for the 100, 200, and 400 meter dashes for the Spartan girls. Maddie Bittle ranked 4th in Long Jump and Ashley Prince ranked 4th in Discus Throw. A 4th place spot also went to the girls' 4x100 relay team. Next week, the Spartan boys and girls will continue practicing hard for the Regional Track Meet in Tahlequah on Saturday, May 5th. Competition is expected to be the toughest yet this season, but the Spartans will be
ready to secure their spots in the season's State Track Meet
on the 11th and 12th.

Also in this week's news, Spartans celebrated two college
signings on Friday afternoon. Brandee Presley signed with
Ole Miss, and the Spartans are sure to miss her smiles and
sprints next year, but we congratulate Brandee and her
supportive family on the races ahead! Also track hurdler,
Cheyenne Wigger, signed with Oklahoma Baptist University,
and we congratulate Cheyenne and her supportive family as
she leaps ahead to her next chapter. Both athletes will be
missed next year by the Spartan track family! ~ Shannon
